One thing that hits you when you are there is the smell. The musty smell of broken wood, concrete and steel.

I wonder if they are going to have two excavations going at once with the alley like a narrow land bridge between.

I wonder what those 3 little rectangle holes in the corner are for? Crane maybe, I hope, I hope?

Crane should be going in soon, they were digging out those square holes in the pit.

EDIT: Sorry didn't see the photos from mcminsen of the pit.

Thanks for the update.

Based on previous photos taken from ground level, I was uncertain whether the pit was being dug to accommodate both residential towers. But your photo makes clear that a second pit must be dug before the shorter tower can be built.

I was there at 4:30 today (Jun 7) and nobody working down there, no wonder things are taking so long, while full crew working at Van House.

I was there at 1 and it was busy. Funny how they are using that mobile crane. Is there a crane shortage? Lol
