I've just entirely rewritten the wikipedia article on this tower (I originally created the page anyway) and have made it more substantial. Now I'm a shitty writer (got a D in English) so was wondering if any of you guys could help a little by changing / adding a few things to make it better

Malec, I've always thought Al Burj would exceed the BD on completion and will surely be the homepage for construction on DMP after BD is completed.
It's something for everyone to look forward to after BD's completed anyway!

I'm sure you're looking at old renders because it's been re-designed and as far as I'm aware, nobody has seen it yet!

In case no one read this article at... http://www.xpress4me.com/news/uae/dubai/20005364.html

Nakheel's tower to eclipse Burj Dubai. The race to build the highest skyscraper in the world may never be over, says the head of Nakheel’s building division.

Canadian Robert Lee, 45, appeared unfazed at the notion of tallest structure claims noting they are often short-lived as taller and taller towers are erected around the globe. The whole idea of the tallest tower is really fleeting,” he said in an interview with XPRESS at a recent trade and tourism show in Dubai.

That said, the push to build the new Nakheel tower Al Burj, he added, was very much “on the drawing board”. And Nakheel isn’t ruling out the possibility that Al Burj could dwarf Burj Dubai. With speculation that the proposed Nakheel tower could reach skyward up to a kilometre, the structure could stand a full 300 metres higher than Burj Dubai.

Lee isn’t ready yet to spill the beans on how high Al Burj tower will reach to enter the record books although he has confirmed that it would be at least as tall as Burj Dubai.

He said once a building reaches a certain height, going a few hundred metres extra doesn’t require as much of additional design, materials and time as one would think.

I find this building very appealing. I am not sure why those of you who hate tall building, become members of the sky"SCRAPER" forum? Shouldn't you become members of the "FlatCountrySide" forum? You know, trees, wooden shacks, cows and countryside, leave us tall building enthusiasts to marvel at these ever-taller buildings?

Oh yeah, I didn't see the date....I must have inadvertently brought this thread back from the dead without knowing it!

Who cares?! I like talking about tall buildings.

3400 ft seems ridiculously tall. But since more structures in the future will probably be taller than that, I guess i'll get used to it, eventually. When the Burj Dubai was first starting construction, I wasn't all that optimistic, but I adjusted. Maybe the same will happen here.

You won't believe this: Burj Dubai on SALE

More than 300 people spent Friday night queuing up outside Emaar Properties' Burj Dubai sales centre, desperate to grab several new units in the developer's flagship project.

In unprecedented scenes, some buyers are thought to have paid nearly 8 million dirhams ($2.18 million) for one bedroom apartments in the Burj itself, and over 2 million dirhams for one bedroom apartments in Downtown Burj Dubai.

Emaar announced on Thursday it would be hosting a sales event for an "exclusive collection" of high-end homes drawn from various residential projects in Downtown Burj Dubai............read more here!
