It is the shape of the building...looks like around the 10th floor they start going inward.

Vertical beams = columns

Makes sense, because of the large exposed cylindrical columns on the first two floors. The columns above need to come out to the edge for the upper floors.

Wow that area is going to be amazing once the terminal and Salesforce are done. I am definitely going have to take nap on the rooftop park on a warm summer day after getting off the train.

For all that's been said about SF losing its soul to tech money, even if that were the case (which it's not) this huge "grand central west" and the city-wide construction boom would be quite a way to "lose soul". Any city should be half as fortunate.

Don't forget 181 across the street and Park Tower at the end of the terminal--all together, an awesome grouping for us!

The soul is being spread out more eastward and northward. Oakland --> Sacramento --> Portland --> Seattle
Actually this has been happening even before I moved to SF originally in 2001.

Alex, can you tell us when they're attaching the toothpick to the WG to try and fool everyone into thinking it's a supertall?

Sounds better than admiring Wireless Router Tower while stuck in traffic

Seems like work on the core has all but stopped. I'm thinking the cranes have to jump, but can't until the frame is tall enough to provide the necessary anchoring points.

I'm thinking the same thing, but I have another theory that it may be that we're staging so much steel that there is no room to stage the rebar.

lol oh no we got a skyscraper warrior here

I know you're just trolling, but SF actually gets a lot of sun (downtown and other eastern neighborhoods in particular...though maybe not much in summer heh), and Salesforce actually looks pretty different from Gran Torre Santiago.

I don't know, probably before they put up the hollow hat on the salesforce to fool everyone into thinking San Francisco is finally getting a supertall

I guess a lot more where that came from is to be expected now that SF is finally overtaking and is becoming the West Coast skyline. Makes me proud to be a Bay Area/ NorCal native

Was referring mostly to height. SF definitely has density.
Before the end of 2018- 2019 the current tallest in SF are:

853'
779'

After 2018- 2019 the tallest in SF will be:
1070'(+?)
910'
853' (current tallest- will be third tallest)
800'- 820'
802'
779' (current second tallest- will be sixth tallest)

In just three years all the postcards are going to be obsolete.
