It's like the rainbow flag of buildings.

Is that sculpture a relative of the Picasso, or a Picasso of it's relative? They obviously love their color, so why stop here? Buy that parking lot north of whole foods and build Optima 3, the tallest of the brothers. I wouldnt mind seeing some orange glass, if it turns out like Mercury tower.
It will be very disappointing if the keep they rest of the roof raw and dont wrap red around it 360

Anyone know what kind of city rules there are fore exterior sculpture sets? Last I heard there has to be a certain amount of pedestrian space and determining the size of sculpture and size of the plaza. Ala Dailey plaza.

Wow, so Hovey designed the sculpture?

Neat. I look forward to seeing how the plaza turns out. So far it's promising. I do hope there is some seating

Love this building. It's just such a pop of color in an otherwise very beige area. GREEN! RED! (a little bit of) YELLOW! Fantastic addition to the area.

That top can't be done yet, can it? It looks like the result of a chore that's assigned to a teenager, who then gets bored and wanders off.

If it is, that would be very disappointing. Exposed concrete? Seemed like the red cladding would make up a larger proportion of the crown as well. I was pretty excited for that too. Quite a let down, if so.

Optima, from 7/12. Bonus shot: 237 E Ontario Crane. Double Bonus shot: Trump Tower looking as gorgeous as ever in the morning light.

For those wondering, the red fencing has been extended on either side. It now runs to edges of the vertical columns. It looks closer to the original renderings, which is grate. Get it, grate?

I'll show myself out.

The top looks really cool from this angle. The green glass, raw concrete, and red louvers stack up nicely almost in a crown. I think this will look just fine after they finish up whatever little pieces are missing.

I know I'm in the minority, but I really don't like how this building turned out. One of my least favorite of the cycle. Whenever I see it when walking around town it just looks like 57 stories of regret and half-assery.
