How many square feet when it's done? this bad boy looks like it could be around 3 million.

That is a hell of a lot of space in a single building!

GREAT! But I think it´s for the memorial.

I guess they will build 1 WTC with those two cranes. We will see in the next days.

I'm enjoying watching this one go up, and comparing the similarities between it and The Bow in Calgary.

Similarities:
Both will be cities tallest
Almost all steel construction (1WTC is getting a concrete core poured after the fact, the Bow is not)
Using the exact same Favco cranes.
Both have some gigantic peices of steel

They seem to be the two most photographed buildings in their specific forum sections.

This one will be the tallest in the country, The Bow not. 1WTC will be tallest in the Americas and the tallest in the Western Himsiphere!

I don't think that "Bow" in Calgary will equal this one. It is an interesting piece of art, in an architecural sense however.

Yes Calgary is a very nice city. I spent some time there about 1983. Even then it was an attractive city to go to.

How much floor area did one of the old World Trade Centre Towers have? IIRC, it's significantly more.

The bow may only be half as tall, but it is still a massive building, just under 2 million sqft. Both buildings are going to be of the highest quality and both cities should be very happy with their new tallest once complete.

So what is the estimated completion date?

That's what I guessed. The reduce office floor count and the tapering sides really take away from the overall area. But, It sounds like NYC doesn't need a huge chunk of new office space.

Actually it’s quite the opposite, especially in Lower Manhattan.
