That's not what the Flames were expecting from Elliott. He was terrible. I think that crazy win streak they went on for a couple months around the All-Star break was total fool's gold, and led to pretty much the worst-case scenario for the Flames - squeeze into a playoff spot only to get routed in the first round. It looks like their #1 draft pick this year will be mid-round (#17), and no other pick until the fourth round (#110) since they traded away their other picks. No goalies signed, need to re-sign Ferland (who earned a raise) and need to decide what to do with Bennett, Wideman and Engelland. they've got a lot of off-season work to do.

Although it's only game 5, I think the winner of tonight's Oilers-Sharks game will take the series.

Elliott will be back if he's open to signing for less than $4 million. I think based on his performance last season and the flashes of brilliance we saw this year, someone will take a shot at him. Gillies looks like he might be ready to step up, and I think Johnson deserves another shot, he showed some promise too. Parsons should do another year in London if he's eligible. Ferland will be back, Bennett will resign (probably for cheap after a disappointing year), same with Engaland. Brouwer will be gone, same with Wideman and I hope Chaison and Freddy Hamilton. Lots of changes coming, but we have a good core group that are mostly young. We will improve through trades and free agent signings I think, not the draft this year.

Good luck Oilers! I really feel the Oilers are our best shot at the cup this year though deep down I still want it to be the Leafs.

On a side note that building attached to the CBC looks like a prison. Ugly Canada worthy.

Wideman, Elliott and England will be gone, use money to sign Bishop.
Far better for the fans to have the team go on a good run and make the playoffs, than to finish just out of the playoffs or go into tank mode. Oiler fans should know that. Johnny Gaudreau was the 104th pick overall, so you don't need to pick first overall year after year to build a good team. Good luck to the Oilers and other Canadian teams.

Actually a little surprised the Flames. Why they didn't have better push back?

No ugliness or shenanigans by the Flames whilst on the ropes!

Montreal: that's what happens when you don't capitalize on NUMEROUS scoring opportunities.

How do you come to that conclusion for a generalized statement on how unoriginal rally slogans are in sports?!? Note: I quoted Edmonton but, it wasn't specific to the Oilers so no need to get all crazy cat lady .

No surprise really. The team is playing extremely hard but there is not enough talent. Subban and Markov were the ones that made magic happen (carrying the offense). Now 38 years old Markov has to do it on his own.

Once you shut down Radulov, it's an easy path to victory.

Max Pacioretty disappears in the playoffs while Carey Price is being outplayed by Lundqvist.

We had 1 playoff warrior who was the heart and soul of the team in the post-season but... Bergevin decided to trade him.

Meanwhile Nashville swept Chicago and PK Subban was the most used player.
Let's go Preds, we're going for the Cup.

So keep hiding behind your plants Marc, you're a disgrace to this team.

It wasn't tough to back up my statement.
