They have now setup a piling machine on the site. Looks like they will be sinking pilings around the edge of property to shore up the structure.

Making some progress with the foundation footings now with some concrete pours recently. No sign as of yet if they plan to setup a tower crane for this build.

They have poured the L1 level elevator/stairwell shaft walls now. Forming and rebar for the foundation and L1 walls on the west end is underway. Still alot of foundation walls and floor to form and pour.

Great news for this project with a large mobile crane on York St setting up the tower crane for this project. Using a tower crane will have a huge benefit in the construction of this 6s building in such a tight space. They will be able to unload materials and easily lift them into place by using the tower crane.

Looks like Middlesex Concrete Forming sign on the tower crane with Norlon Builders as General contractor for this YOU project. Middlesex CF is also working on the new Western Innovation building together with Norlon. Good to see both CF and Middlesex both getting major concrete forming contracts around the city.

Forming is now above ground for what appears to be the elevator/stairwell shaft. Still working on the L1 level walls and floor as well. Still not clear if they intend to build this with standard concrete wall and post forming and concrete slab or use structural steel with a poured elevator/stairwell core. Either way the 6 floors should go up quickly once they have poured the ground floor slab.

Good to see this event to support YOU.

The forming for the ground floor elevator/stairwell shafts is well along now and should see a concrete pour in the near future. Still looks like alot of work left to complete the L1 level walls and floor especially along the north side where it joins the foundation of the old GT's building. I wonder if they plan to cut doorways to connect the new building to the old GT's building at various levels?

They have now poured the ground floor elevator/stairwell shaft walls for the central core. Forming still for the west end stairwell/elevator shaft ground floor walls. Still working on the L1 level walls and floor elsewhere in the pit.

Forming now for the 2nd floor level on the elevator/stairwell concrete shafts. Still working on the L1 level perimeter walls for the foundation thou. Not clear yet if they plan to use structural steel for the floors or will go with poured concrete. Will have to wait until they pour the ground floor slab to see which design they go with.

Forming now started for 3rd floor elevator stairwell shaft. They may be planning to form and pour both the west and center concrete shafts for all 6 floors then build the floor slabs off them.

Steel rebar now going in for the basement floor slab concrete pour on the west end. The east end has the crushed stone but is still waiting on water barrier and rebar which is likely this week. Might see big concrete pour of base slab by end of week or early the following week.

Looks like they have now poured the L1 floor slab as they have started installing the structural steel posts for the first two floors. Not clear if they plan to use precast concrete slabs for the floors or will do a poured concrete slab for each floor once a steel sheet is installed. Should see forming for the 4th floor elevator/stairwell shafts starting next week as well.

Have now landed precast concrete slabs for the ground floor and mostly all of the second floor. Should see them finish the second floor this week and start installing the structural steel for the 3rd and 4th floors posts and beams. Forming continues for the elevator and stairwell shafts.

Forming for the west end 6th floor elevator/stairwell shaft well under way now. No progress on installing structural steel posts and beams for the 3rd and 4th floors as of yet. They may be intending to finish the elevator/stairwell shafts concrete forming and pouring in order to clear out the forms and make space for steel and concrete precast floor slab installation. Space is really tight for this site and planning the logistics is much more important.
