The caisson pilings are drilled down to the lowest level of the foundation around the site. Then filled with concrete to create a piling wall. The interior soil is then excavated to dig the pit which is then filled with underground levels. Basically the caisson pilings create a concrete box.

Now working along the Dufferin side to drill the pilings. Appears they will not be undercutting the old law office home but will drill the pilings along the edge of the home. Wonder how much of the back yard of the Dufferin homes they will use for pilings to maximize the underground footprint.

Drilling machine now onsite to drill and install the cable bracing into the pit walls. The pit is down 3m on the south side which is perfect height for first row of pit wall braces. Once done at this level they will excavate down another 3 meters and repeat the process until they reach the bottom level. They will be working on the excavation well into the spring i would expect.

Swimming pool on the south side of lot that has been excavated so far. The massive rains we had hopefully don't freeze solid.

Today ground is so wet no drilling happening. Pumps running to drain the lake in the pit.

Pit excavation now moving north. Horizontal cable bracing installation on south side of pit is complete so would expect them to dig that out another 3 meters deeper as well. Should expect to see parade of dump trucks hauling away loads of dirt over next weeks.

The piling drilling machine has now been removed from site. Excavators have been slowly digging the soil out.

Noticed that a sign for Concrete Forming has gone up on fencing. Wonder if Old Oak has contracted CF to do the concrete work for entire project or just the underground levels or the north 29s tower with another contractor doing the south 40s tower. Also interesting that Ellis-Don did not get it.

Made some progress on the digging on south side of pit. Appears to be a couple of meters deeper now. Still not clear how they will deal with the old law office house on Dufferin. Will they undercut it or put pilings to protect the house foundation?

Now down to around 5 meters on south side of pit. Would expect the drilling machine to start installed the next row of horizontal cable braces into the pit walls soon.

Looks like work has stopped on the excavation of the foundation. No progress in 2 weeks.

Apparently they will only have 3 levels of underground parking due to water table issues. They have reached the bottom on the south side of pit now.

Looks like they're setting up the base of the crane now.

Concrete footing for tower crane has been poured. Looks like crane may use elevator shaft rather then be on exterior of building. Still no hint on how they plan to deal with old law office building on Dufferin and incorporating it into north tower and underground parking levels. Would be alot easier and cheaper to demolish it entirely and excavate pit where it stood.
