931-1225 Southdale Road East - three 6s (Under Construction)

Proposal to allow for three 6s apartment buildings on the SE corner of Southdale and Millbank. They would need to remove a number of townhouses fronting on Southdale to make room. The three new buildings will have 167 new units and community space on ground floor and they would retain 98 townhouses.

Linked proposal has artist rendering.

I imagine this Free Press story from June is posted on one of the development threads here, but here it is again, along with the Community Housing website for the project.

This is a really interesting project. Good way to provide additional housing units on existing land.

I lived there in the mid to late 90's as a kid. Was a cesspool then, is a cesspool now. LMCH doesn't give a flying fuck about those homes. We had no major issues in our unit, but given they were 25 ish years old then we shouldn't have. But man, the bed bugs in some units, the pavement between units, the basketball court, playgrounds, all of it, was just not cared about. I hope it changes for the better for those that live, and will live there.
