So WS will join AM on the YYC-MEX route.
Flight times are better for destination MEX passengers. Talking to my buddy at TransCanada, the AM redeye flight is useless for them as the next day is a write off. WJ flight allows you to get in and get a good nights rest before the next business day.

Interesting to see how this impacts AM. Hopefully by the spring their loads will have stabilized to a level that can support WJ's entrance.

huh... did the airport's team know that WS would be coming in with a MEX route this quickly after Aeromexico launches? Can the city support 2 carriers on this route?

I would think that they work pretty closely with WS to know, and maybe shouldn't have bothered with Aeromexico in the first place.

AM's YYC-MEX has seen an even higher percentage of connecting passengers than was anticipated, and AM is "very happy" with the route. That is directly from AM supervisor. It doesn't mean WS can't push them out, but obviously the higher the percentage of connecting pax on AM the less likely it is to happen... not to mention WS is only 4 weekly.

YVR will have four airlines to MEX. They might have a problem.

WS goes to daily effective end of April.

YVR will have 5 carriers to MEX - AC, AM, 4O, CZ and now WS

Is China Southern allowed to carry passengers solely between YVR-MEX though?

You are correct... CZ cannot carry YVR-MEX Pax.

So yeah technically 4 carriers!

Speaking of AM, it looks like they've extended the Tuesday flight cancellations until the end of October.

Scary landing for this A380. Check the swerves after touchdown - I'm amazed it didn't tip!

It's for the incoming 787-9, which is bigger in all dimensions than the 763 that can't fit in the existing hangar.

737 Max's are already good to go in the existing hangar. Speaking of which......these pics were snapped today before the maiden flight of the first 737 Max.

Westjet's first 737 Max getting ready for its maiden flight.

Nice plane. Let's keep quiet about Boeing delivering an aircraft tariff free in Canada...

The amazing skill that these pilots displayed on this rough landing - giving new meaning to white knuckle landing - and it's amazing that no tires blew out with the side to side motion.
