One would think the Brentwood lease was one of Sears' most lucrative.

That makes sense. I was wondering what that was.

Thanks.

I just noticed the undulating posts on the Willingdon podium façade.

thanks Mcminsen for the updates. That is one huge fountain at the entrance!! And the cascade of steps leading up to the plaza. Seems to take up a lot of the plaza space though?

I hope something more interesting than a static Cineplex sign goes up in that blank spot around the curved portion.

Thanks for the pics as always.

Wish it was a few more.

The spire on Altus will remain the high water mark in Brentwood for sometime.

I think Penthouse level of Brentwood One will finish at the top of the crown of Altus.

I know Onnis project is tallest in BC, but geographically Gilmore is much lower than Mall or SoLo sites.

Still - Pretty cool to have a soon to be cluster of tall towers, with the other two Mall towers going up quick. And SoLo 3 being 40 somewhat floors.

Here's to hoping that someone proposes something ultra ambitious on the Carter sites to build the intensity of this intersection.

Sears Space

I wonder which establishments would replace the Sears Brentwood space. Will there be a T&T? It looks unlikely. Lol.

Uniqlo in Metrotown is always crazy busy..long lines to the fitting rooms, etc. Once the Vancouver location opens perhaps the Metrotown store will look and feel less manic, if not, it'd be nice if they open another store in The Amazing Brentwood.

Uniqlo would be stupid to open in Brentwood, too much overlap. The Uniqlo in Metrotown will die down in the coming months.

I think the bulkier massing of Brentwood 1 and 2 will have more presence than Altus, even if shorter.

********

Could be the angle of the pic, but I see a pinch point at the end of the bridge at the fountain:

I have been seeing the same thing all through construction. I think there should be a rule of thumb that pedestrian access to transit on a site like this should be at least as wide as a lane of traffic. I don't know what they were thinking narrowing the walkway at both ends. Mind you, pedestrians can walk both ways around the fountain, so maybe it won't be as bad as it looks.

If it's like Telus Garden dowtown, they'll at least have a tall glass partition so people don't fall in!
