Renderings for the " Country Club Gardens":

Quote:
3/6/15 - The Broe Company of Denver recently submitted building permit applications for the development of two new towers in the Country Club Gardens apartment project after receiving approval from the City's Landmark Preservation Commission. The 30 story tower, first reported in the 8/13/14 post below, have been designed by Solomon Cordwell Buenz (SCB) Architects of Chicago. The building massing has remained the same since the previous post, however, the exterior materials have been revised to better reflect the architectural character of the low rise apartment buildings that are also part of the Country Club Gardens project. Construction is planned to start during the summer of this year, with completion in 2017.

I would think that this is the final rendering of what will be known as Country Club II Tower East and Country Club II Tower West......

and per The Broe Group, developers of this twin tower project, the official groundbreaking ceremony will take place on May 29th (just 7 days away from this post)

http://www.bizjournals.com/denver/bl...alcountry.html

Good day for an official groundbreaking for these elegant buildings in an already highly upscale part of town.......

Also, this is probably along the last of anything taller than about 8 stories that we'll be seeing built in Denver outside of DT and maybe a couple of other few selected areas around the city, probably for a long, long time, as now the new Denver zoning ordinances are in effect, and this project had been already zoned and waiting to be built now for over a decade ago. And this project will somewhat alter and add some punch into the overall Denver skyline.

Excellent news! It's high time Denver got another skyline changer.

After a few years of announcing, planning, redesigning, and just general waiting around, the 16-story One Belleview Station building has finally broken ground.......

This is part of the Belleview Station TOD (Transit Oriented Development), one of the bigger planned TODs.

Also, this building is part of the Denver Tech Center in southeast Denver, and is on the very edge of the City and County of Denver boarder lines. If one were to go across the street to the south, or go across the street to the east (the streets shown foreground in the image), they would find themselves outside of the City and County of Denver.

And with all that are on there listed as under construction (UC), probably the following (from info out there) are very near completion and will be completed by the end of this year:

14th Dual Brand Hotel
The Platform (folks already moving in)
Joule/EnV
DIA Westin (already built, official opening this November)
1601 Wewatta
Triangle Building
88 Steele Creek (folks already moving in)
1st + Steele
Art Hotel (reservations being taken for this July IIRC)
100 St Paul

This list will probably be changing somewhat as these buildings complete......

A few construction photos and views around the LoDo and Union Station neighborhoods - July 18, 2015:

The cranes are for 17W (AKA Pivot Denver) - three 13 story towers with Whole Foods anchor, and Union Station Block A - 12 story hotel and 5 story office building. The vacant parcel in the foreground in planned for two residential towers - one 24 stories and the other 12 stories:

A view of the station train platform, with The Platform apartments in the background and the 12 story hotel and 5 story office building under construction. The recently completed Triangle Building can also be seen:

Waiting for the trains to arrive in 2016. Three lines plus Amtrak will use the station by the end of the year. One more will start in 2018:

A view of the of the Union Station skyline from LoDo:

The water feature on the Wynkoop Street side of Union Station:

Excavation for Z Block, a mixed use development with an 8 story hotel (172 rooms), 6 story office building (260,000 square feet), and ground floor retail:

Union Tower West, a 12 story mixed use project with a Hotel Indigo and 100,000 square feet of office. In the background are CityHouse apartments and Elan Union Station (with the areas first full size grocery store):

Nice!

Of the various third tier cities (Atl., Minneapolis, Seattle, Miami, Denver, Dallas, Houston), I think Denver is the best. It blows the doors off if fourth tier cities like Charlotte, Tampa, Indy, etc.

Take block 162 out of there. You can't put someones rumored mythological pipe dream on the list with real projects.
