New Retail Floorplans
dated July 5, 2017
posted to Amazing Brentwood website.
  • These appear to be "transitional plans"
The 3 storey Sears store remains in place at the south end.
A new 2 storey anchor (115,000 sq ft) is at the north end with a bigger community centre on top
Multiple large format retailers (Sporting Life?) are gone from the north end.
A new "Office Lobby" with 6 elevators is adjacent to the new north anchor - maybe 15-20 storeys?
Underground anchor on Level 140 has some retail units carved out from it.

Those are some very large food and beverage spaces on 186 on the current mall side. The big one on 204 is probably going to be part of The Rec Room, though as to why they have separated it and the theater/arcade space directly adjacent to the south is odd.

Edit: Judging from the sizes specified in this article the anchor on the west side facing Willingdon on 186 will be the Rec Room(44k sq ft) with the theatres(22k sq ft, article says approx 20k) directly above it.

the rec room and cineplex operate separately. Both of edmonton's rec rooms are independent.

Yeah, I don't quite see why there are "food and beverage tenants" on the Level 204 Theatre level.
That makes the theatre too small(?) - unless the pink is a subdivision for the concession area of the Cineplex Theatre?

Thanks.,
They don't look as tall from up the hill.

*************

I also wonder if the new north anchor department store is in response to L Catterton's investment in the project.
The north end of the mall is Phase 2.
Previously, the new department store was to be at the south end of the mall as Phase 3 - much farther out in terms of timing.
It could be that the north end will be the "luxury wing" instead of the south end, and it will be built sooner rather than later.

Is it possible for the high-ceilinged level 204 to have 2 levels of auditorium spaces? If that's the case, then they can have a bunch of smaller theatre rooms?

Unlikely with stadium style seating (i.e. compare to the height of the single level of theatres at International Village)

The future of Sears Canada is in greater doubt after it announced Friday night that it will close an additional 10 department stores, including the locations at Fairview Mall and Scarborough Town Centre in the coming months.

The Sears stores at Lime Ridge Mall in Hamilton and Oakville Place will also be closed, along with six other Sears department stores across Canada.

One more Sears Home store, in Kelowna, will also be closed.
...

The locations of the additional full-line department stores being closed include: Nanaimo North Town Centre; Brentwood Town Centre, Burnaby; Kelowna; Polo Park, Winnipeg; Fairview Pointe-Claire, Quebec and Avalon Mall, St. John’s Newfoundland.

that's gonna suck for Nanaimo Town Centre, which is also a Shape Property I believe.

The last time I was in the brentwood sears a few months ago the staff outnumbered the shoppers and some of the makeup brands seemed to have pulled out.
