more pics please - I wouldn't call Leicester particularly beautiful, but it would be good if the forum featured more typical UK cities!

Yeah, Leicester is not beautiful by any means. I've only been once that I can remember. Although my good friend was born and raised there (in that upper-class part where the McCanns with the disappeared daughter live)

Crane City

Leicester went through a spectacular change recently and the prominent features in the city were cranes! They are still here in some parts. It’s been two years now. Here are some photos of these giants that changed the face of Leicester.

The Blue Building

Chelsea Thanks.
I’m glad you liked them.

Himali
This used to be the old BT office.
I remember going there to pay my bills at the shop below.
A long long time ago!

The whole tower has now been painted blue!!
Love it or hate it
Its here to stay.
Well it’s a land mark that can be seen from miles around Leicester.

City Centre

A lot of festivals are held in Leicester.
This is one such festival which I captured on August this year.
A historic event on the 3rd August 2008 as Leicester was the second city in Europe to host the three Chariot festival known as The Jagannatha Ratha-Yatra festival.
The photos also captures the Grand city centre and the city life.

46.

These people are enjoying their tea and coffee with a grand view. European style outdoor cafes are appearing all over.
