Yeah - what building method are they using because they need to give the playbook to Hanover Midtown.

Lilli does look great. However, is it me or was this one just begging to be 35+ stories for maximum impact?

Looks like the parking deck and the units that wrap the parking deck are precast floor and wall construction.

The higher tower portion looks like post-tension slabs but unsure of the wall construction yet- perhaps it's precast construction as well?

The design would have looked fantastic at 35+, but I think it’s height works really well for the area. It’s generally pretty tall in comparison to what immediately surrounds it. That said, the jumps in height between lilli, at&t, and BoA plaza are substantial and will only be less noticeable if each block has more dense infill with multiple building with various heights. Midtown is really narrow with wide blocks, so it’s not the easiest to pull off.

What if they capped the connector with a shallow river? Now THAT would be awesome.

Rumor elsewhere on the internet is that CSX has sold Hulsey & Tilford yards for redevelopment.

The Sutton in buckhead is flipping to condos and MARTA announced BRT from Summerhill to Midtown.

Even Chicago's subway is pretty limited. Most of it is elevated.
Subway is a generic term that refers primarily to heavy rail rapid transit-- not necessarily to being underground-- so we have 48 or so miles of it.

Back to updates on Atlanta highrise urban development, please.
Exactly-- tearing down buildings for street widening? Do we have the reincarnation of Robert Moses here?

LOL! We need wider streets, more parking lots and more curb cuts!

I'm excited about the possibility of the BRT line. That fills a transit hole and if done well, could be a great addition. The silver line in Boston comes to mind as a project that has been done extremely well.

Removal of the Hulsey yard would be huge. After the yard stopped operations, they could temporarily relocate the CSX mainline to the south end of the yard. In the upper area of the yard, they could build a new at-grade HRT line, plus a new 2 level transit station at Krog street, with a lower level for the Beltline streetcar line. After that portion was complete, they could switch operations of the HRT from the elevated to the new at grade line, then demolish the elevated. They would then be able to finish the streetcar tunnel under Dekalb Avenue. Once the CSX mainline was relocated north to the southern edge of the HRT line, the remaining land could be redeveloped into a mixed use development with the Beltline going right through the center of it. CSX would walk away with millions short term while conceding local intermodal business to NS in the long term. Everyone wins!

I wonder if that's a sign they are potentially close to selling the NW portion of the beltline corridor to the beltline? Tilford is pretty much the point at which NW beltline corridor transitions to the West corridor. If so that would be huge and also could help any future transit development along the western half of the beltline.

Tilford merely abuts Inman Yards though, right?

Hulsey yards redevelopment would be awesome. There could be mixed use all the way to Inman Park station similar to development along the red and blue lines in Chicago *drools*. The neighborhood may push back though, as the population could jump significantly. We could easily fit in a widened BeltLine or new trail between Oakland Cemetery and Inman Park Station, too. Little's Food Store would see so much business

It does is my understanding, but to me the bigger play with that yard is its connection points for the beltline corridor. Rail lines go NE and South from the yard which forms the western half of the beltline which was/is owned by CSX. I would assume the only reason CSX would be willing to sell the yard would be if they plan on selling the remaining portion of the beltline they own as I'm assuming its sort of the Western yard to their Atlanta intermodal system.

The Sutton (New Rendering) - Buckhead

This is a damn fine looking building for the price of the condos.

$500k is steep for my pocketbook, but man I sure am happy to see condos going up for sale. Bring more to Midtown and the EST. I wonder if the Charles having such success prompted this.
