Do what Gretsky does and just have another glass of wine.
These are all good points and have been addressed in the past. But last year no one cared about the Hall trade when we were in the playoffs and doing great.

Eberle was doing nothing here...and was a minus player for a long time. It was a 50/50 trade as to what it would produce for the Oilers.

I can see Draisidal, and McDavid to long term...but yeah not Lucic.

In pro soccer it's around 40 years actually.

LOL at this. Hall is a Hart candidate and Eberle would be second in Oilers scoring.

Well played, Chirelli.

When a team was as bad as the Oilers were 2 years ago....moves have to happen. Eberle wasn't doing anything in Edmonton and was a salary dump. This was a good move. What he is doing now...well good for him but he wasn't producing here!!!

Our defence was garbage and larson was a good acquisition. Did we pay to much for him...yes. Im a Hall fan and was sad to see him go.

I wanted to cheer for them when they announced the team but I couldn't do it because of the jerseys they chose to wear. I would have bought if they went with the classics.

I love our jerseys. Not sure why some dislike them. THe old jerseys were so 1980. Hockey isn’t supposed to look like a cartoon lol.
The fact the name is the Jets. We have a Air Force base here in Winnipeg. So the connection was a no brainer for the jersey. And it also lets everyone know down south it’s a Canadian team with the leaf in the emblem. Colour scheme was awesomely done.

Leafs fans think it's the Leafs, and Canadiens fans think it's the Habs. Forever thus shall it be.

Agreed. I cheer for all of them. Except the Canucks. I think we can all agree that if there was a team that wasn't Canada's team it is the Canucks.

I'm completely joking on that.

Eberle's point totals in recent seasons far exceeded those of Strome in New York. The problem with those two trades the Oilers made is that it was obvious from the moment they were consummated that Edmonton did not receive appropriate compensation. Eberle should have received Strome and a decent prospect/draft pick given he was clearly the better player while Hall should have netted Larson and a blue chipper/first rounder from the devils. Let's not even mention the terrible first round pick in what was known to be a deep draft in 2015 for a defenseman who had shown no signs of progress 3 years after being drafted.

Chiarelli 0 for 3 in the trade department. Might just be the worst GM in the NHL!

And Edmonton is in full tank mode. Getting outshot 45-20.

The playoff race in the Pacific division is getting crazy, Anaheim, LA, San Jose and Calgary are all separated by 3 points, but only 2 will get in due to the central being slightly better. I'm nervous for the Flames, we need something to pick this team up a little!

Haven't seen the final standings of a division look this certain so early in the season before. The Atlantic is pretty much locked in with the Leafs one point behind Boston, but with 5 more games played... It looks very unlikely an Atlantic team will catch a wild card spot, let alone make a run for third place.

Unless Boston slips, looks like the Leafs will have to face two of the best teams in the league to progress through the playoffs. Would be a good test.
