The Port Authority said that would start in 2013.

Yea but they changed that, it was scheduled to be at the end of last month. They were constructing the mounts for it too

Podium glass

So what are they doing behind that tarp now? Adding the mounts?

Also, what was the hold up that caused the glass to be delayed all these months?

I'm pretty sure they are adding the mounts to support the external glass fin base. I am just wondering what's so important about the base/podium that they have to add glass to last?

Actually from this angle it looks like a completed 1WTC with the cranes sticking up straight like that.

That mbaron photo shows how desperately 1LP needs a cleanup or skin change. I fear it's gonna make the finished TC complex look like diamonds next to a lump of coal.

I can't wait to ride the elevator in this beautiful beast!

Is it true that it's going to be the fastest in North America when completed?

Yeah. These elevators are the fastest in North America, it said in the Discovery Documentary "Rising: Rebuilding Ground Zero".

No it doesn't and I don't think it will. I can tell you that the Singer building would have been in far more of a predicament if the ornate skyscraper was right across the street from a fully clad glass skyscraper, coated with a matte finish(tenants would basically be looking at themselves).

I'd love to see the Singer building.
