Ah, I see now. I was thinking the bypass traffic was going over 6, but it is 6 going over the bypass. That makes sense now.

As I like to do. This is a hypothetical way for the Bypass to go from Victoria Ave North to Highway 46. A lot of people said that there was no room. But it appears that it could fit quite nicely.

^^ nice work...although, I would prefer an "at grade" crossing for the the CN and CP tracks. ;-)

Looking good.

Is there any long term plan to complete the bypass around the NE & N of the city to complete the loop ?

It exists in concept form only.

I used the Pilot Butte Diverging Diamond Interchange for the first time to make a left hand turn and merge on the TCH.

BEST. DESIGN. EVER.

Took a while. But here are the boards from the West Bypass Open House (sorry about the size)

Images uploaded smaller by BDH2, thanks. I used imgur but don't know what happened.

I'm confused why they are closing Dewdney. Why don't they close it when they open the overpass, I'm confused why they planning to completely screw it up.

Looks like it's time to go buy a UHD monitor.

Seriously, why are the images so big on this forum sometimes?

Most hosting services automatically reduce the file size. Imgur, being the best, maintains more quality size. Then the admins haven't added any mods to the forum software to force a resize.

People simply need to resize before uploading.

So what will the final design of the bypass-Dewdney intersection be like? No access from Dewdney to go south on the bypass?

You will turn left onto Pinkie Rd (if you are coming from Regina) and enter the the bypass at the Hill interchange.

From what I understand they are closing dewdney as they have to tie in the bridge roads into the existing Right of way and rebuild the roads to their upgraded standard. This is expected to be a month.

However, while all this is happening trucks will be able to drive right into the hub and won't need to drive on secondary roads or deal with trains stopping them anymore. Not to mention divided 4 lane travel.

It is also expected that the bypass from the hub to the TCH will remain open even after dewdney reopens so that'll be good.

At least the Hill interchange will be used for something!

I think we can all be happy that the Province of Sask and City of Regina (albeit reluctantly) have spent the money and have done it right the first time. All grade separated from 9th to TCH. The unofficial "West Ring Road"

Now the city will need to spend some capital to upgrade to freeway standard from Argyle to The Bypass. Fix the Rail situation and build an overpass to remove direct at-grade access to the TCH between Lewvan and West bypass.

Balgonie Residents Upset that Businesses Will Be Hurt

https://regina.ctvnews.ca/ministry-m...cess-1.3924771

What's everyone's take on this?

IMO, this does suck but as traffic on TCH increases, this has to happen. Saskachewan will not install traffic lights like Manitoba does, and even a RIRO will cause problems because interchanges with Highway 10 and with Highway 46 are already pretty close to one another.

Ps: I wonder if business owners will be okay with relocating to Highway 46 and/or 622.

My take is that people complained for years about dangerous level crossings on the #1 east of the city and they got what they wanted.

Balgonie is getting a massive benefit from this project. They have their own 100 million dollar interchange. Did they even contribute a nickel of local taxes to that? It is a freeway. Access must be limited.
