Avra, a greek restaurant on Juniper in midtown, just closed.

There's quite a bit of visible work going on at Piola at 1010 Ptree; hopefully it'll open soon.

The one way street hurts it but then again I remember Spice (old Straits) was the hottest restaurant in the city when it opened.

No the tiny broken sidewalks, poorly lit streets, lack of police presence, and insufficient parking are the reasons that Juniper has a blank feel after 7th.

Well the last time we went to that Einsteins Bagel people were flying down the street and it cost a small fortune to park in a lot that wasn't much more than a bunch of potholes.

You mean Einsteins next to Joe's? Cars fly down that street because that's what one-ways were designed for:speed. It would be a lot different if it was turned into a two-way street.

A really good 2010 restaurant update was just posted on ToNeTo Atlanta. Highland Bakery is opening a branch in Midtown, and the Loews hotel just down the street will have a restaurant as well.

this is a nice tenant to land for 12th and midtown, with CB2, ra sushi, noon, ri-ra and bofa across the street, and lowes next door.....these few blocks are really starting to pop.

NY steakhouse coming to Midtown
Atlanta Business Chronicle - by Lisa R. Schoolcraft Staff Writer

New York steakhouse STK is entering the Atlanta market, planning to open in December along the Midtown Mile.

STK, which also has locations in Los Angeles and Miami, plans to take 12,000 square feet on two levels in the 12th & Midtown development, at the base of 1075 Peachtree office tower.

12th & Midtown, a $2 billion mixed-use project, also includes the 1010 Midtown condominium tower and Loews Atlanta Hotel, a major project in the Midtown Mile, a 14-block of Peachtree Street in Midtown developers and civic boosters want to see transformed into a retail and entertainment destination.

“We actively sought them out,” said Shirley Gouffon, senior vice president of Selig Enterprises Inc., which is building 12th & Midtown. “We have identified prospective retailers and restaurants that do not have a presence in Atlanta.”

STK will have two concepts in one: The actual STK will be on the Peachtree side at the base of the office tower, and "STK OUT," a more casual version, will be right at the corner of 12th and Peachtree.

Also, the Loews hotel will open April 1st, along with the restaurant "Eleven" and the accompanying "Bar Eleven."

Lots of activity starting in this area, with all this plus Piola and CB2 coming this year.

Well the missus and I went to this place in West End called Space and it was pretty nice. There is plenty of parking or you could take the MARTA which we didn't because of the time of day.

Well just me and the wife and this other couple that comes to town with us every now and then. The only trouble we had was the Buick didn't want to start but a real nice fella in the parking lot helped us jump it off. I would recommend the food however.

Well the newspaper says some place called the Davio's Northern Italian Steakhouse is opening down in Buckhead. It looks like they've got other ones in the Back Bay in Boston and Rittenhouse Square in Philadelphia, so who knows?

Well we got some friends coming in from up north and California for the big cardiology doctor thing and we have to figure out where to take them. Of course they all want to see Buckhead but we were thinking about showing them some good old Georgia barbecue, any recommendations?

I think Fat Matt's on Piedmont and Maddie's are both great options.
