It won't work. There are basic philosophical differences that can't be compromised - decentralized free market vs. centralized collectivism. We can only hope it remains peaceful.

We can survive on minimal water, or migrate elsewhere.

Alabama has so much water it's disgusting. Only Louisiana gets more average rainfall and has a larger navigable river system. I bet we could sell a bit of it to Georgia for top dollar and ditch our state income tax at the same time. Just a thought.

interesting 3-part historical build up to the ongoing tri-state "water wars".

interesting that mayor w.b. hartsfields decision to do it on the cheap and not have the city contribute to building buford dam is what ultimately removed a provision that would have allowed atlanta to legally draw from LSL.
