To continue my photo threads from my Washington DC trip with photoLith, here some shots taken in Alexandria's historic Old Town district. It's a gorgeous area, one that I highly recommend visiting as part of any trip to the DC area!

Beautiful, Aaron! Thanks for sharing.

That´s a real historic neighbourhood, yes. I love those kind of houses, lamps, streets, churches, trees, flowers... A pleasant historic place to live in.

Congrats and greetings from Madrid, Spain!

In case of fire, beat cat with fire extinguisher. On another note, your photography skills are for sure improving.

That narrow house has the distinction of being the narrowest in the DC area, and legend has it was built as a spite house in what used to be an alleyway by the owner on one side to block access on the alley from that side. I think some high-profile financial industry guy uses it as a pad whenever he's in town.

Was that Lebanese place the Pita House by any chance? It looks good, I'll have to check it out for myself. Las Tapas across the street is also very good.

Thanks for the info on the that narrow house, novaCJ. As for the Lebanese place, yes it was Pita House. Pretty tasty!

Dandy tour Aaron. Old Town is one of the gems of the DC area. Wish I could afford it.

btw, when were you rascals in the area? Wish you would have called. I would like to have met up with youse guys. I could have shown you some of the less desirable areas in the DC region.

Thanks for the pics.

Great pics of Alexandria's more residential rowhouse neighborhoods.

I highly recommend the masonic monument, I imagine they still run a tour for access to the top and good views.

The spite house is the narrow house in Boston that youre thinking of. Its even narrower than this house in Alexandria.

This is also a spite house. There was one built in New York as well, but it was torn down.

Excellent, luv the itty bitty and the slim church that could pass itself off for an old fire brigade hall.

Great pictures! Alexandria is a great city.

Since you seem to like cities like this and Annapolis, you should come up to my neck of the woods and visit New Castle. It's a smaller version of the two.

Hey Glowy, I browsed through these before but didn't comment. Just thought I'd say your photography is definitely improving; this is some of your best stuff yet.
