Beautiful. But, they should have uploaded it on a smaller scale so it can be more appreciated.

Isn't it in both? I think it straddles the border. Beautiful photo. Of all the places I've been in the SW, I still haven't made it there yet. I need to see Shiprock, too.

I stayed at the campsite where the picture was taken last year around this time.

Its one of the nicest places in that sort of area, I would also say Bryce Canyon is an awsome place.

The best is in the morning, the sunrise is just incredible, and if your staying in the campsite you open your tent and you see the sun rise between the massive Rocks/Mountains.

Its ones of those must see places.

It is in both UT and AZ....TIME LIFE magazine just put out an issue on 100 places to see in your lifetime and Monument valley was in there and they put it in both AZ and UT. They have also considered it for the new Natural wonders of the World nomination. It would be nice to get to go somewhere like that and get away from the big city.

Monument valley does indeed straddle the AZ/UT border.

When coming up through the Arizona part of Monument Valley, the little side pillar on the mesa in the center is on the left. Here it is on the right, which tells us that the photographer approached from the Utah half, and may have in fact been in Utah when he took the photo. The photo itself shows both states.
