Maybe you have ancestors from northern France. Lots of Celts up there.

Maybe. The only thing I know is my Dad's familly name is from Burgundy (Nièvre) and my mom's one from the old region of ''Touraine'' near Tours.

I am of Bourguignon origin too. It's not that common here. Most Québécois are of Normand, Breton or Parisian origin. And most Acadians have their origins in Poitou-Charente.

Exactly !
At some point, I heard that 50% of French-Québécois ancestors are from Normandy... and it sounds about right, when you look at the old ''Normand'' dialect. It looks like alot of the Quebec language.
Per example, they have the word ''Itou'' like in the sentence ''Moé Itou''...

Another example : https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Norman...purin_1773.jpg

If you're from the same lignée as astrophysicist Hubert Reeves, his last name is actually an anglicized version of the old French name "Rives".

I think I'm not like a Courreur des bois
Quebecois de souche, but also, you could pass for Swedish. You sort of remind me of a younger Bjorn Ulvaeus (one of the guys from ABBA...I am an old fogie, so pardon with the dated comparison).

Yeah, there seems to be something in your manners and appearance that feels vaguely Scandinavian.

If I bumped into you in Northern France though I'd certainly initially assume you were a local (until you spoke).
