Let's be fair, it sits off a trolley line. As much as we'd like it to be a solid towering street, why would someone invest in it like that when it's not built for it? If the city doesn't want to put MFL stops there then what does it expect. Honestly, the trollys shouldn't go any farther than 30th. Keep them going to 13th since they already do, but that is not an excuse to not have the MFL stop between 15th and 30th.

I was just thinking how dumb it is that the trolleys don't end at 30th street and the MFL doesn't have stops there instead. Having lived around there and working in this area now, I can say it is a huge bummer. I know people will say you can transfer at City hall and it's not that hard to transfer, but it can add a good 10 minutes to your commute even at peak times, the trolley lines close sooner, and are frankly less safe at night.

Ideally there'd be a split platform allowing access to both, but we all know SEPTA's not going to fund that in this climate.

The transfer at 13th isn't so bad but the transfer at 15th is rediculous.

Looks like some "meeting of the minds" activity on the grounds of 1919 Market. I guess groundbreaking is in sight.

Can the proposed height be changed during construction? Or the original plans are etched in stone?

I mean if it is at 367ft tall the building will be nearly the size of the Murano and taller than both the Sterling and Penn Center. A lot of the buildings around 16th and Market are 140 meters, give or take.

I'd love to see something much bigger, but there are just so many lots and short parking garages in this city to be filled in. If Comcast and LPT do end up building on those Arch St. lots it will be a ton of new office space in the city.

When you say nearly the size of the murano what do you mean? It will have nearly the same amount of residential space? Won't this be consuming considerably more lot space per residential space than the murano is?

I mean height wise. I don't know about lot size. The Murano does have that parking garage attached to it.

It would be nice to have a massive office building there, but I just see many open lots right in CC that need to be filled in to complain about what is going there.

That's just me though.

Cool image of it -

Based on emporis, it is "canceled" at 460ft... They should have went for the 460ft design.

367' is about the size of the Peco building.

Oh I didn't notice the garage... I guess these two buildings are pretty similar then.

With this and 1900 arch logan square is going to see alot more people moving in. I wonder if we're going to see it start become a kind of second / extension of rittenhouse? The area needs to repurpose some of the houses into shops etc.

if i remember correctly, this site was fully dug out (probably 30+ feet deep) with steel and wood beam retaining walls installed back in the early 90s in anticipation of the twin office tower. eventually, they just covered everything over with dirt.

so my guess is that redigging out this hole and doing foundations will be relatively quick and easy.

My understanding is that there will not be underground parking and thus not much digging for the project.
