Yep, it looks like this decade Georgia pulls into 8th and Michigan falls to 9th, and New Jersey gets pushed out of the top ten to be replaced by North Carolina.

Strangely enough, the Census has predicted that Michigan's loss has actually slowed for the four years its been predicted to have declined in population when many expected the rate of outmigration to increase. It is still posting a very slight population gain for the decade (+0.3), and who knows what the Census will show? A HUGE thing, this year, is to get as many Michigan snowbirds as possible counted. State demographers have estimated that the state has one of the largest snowbird (part-time residents with permanent/primary residence, here) populations of any state, and that at least 200,000 were missed in Michigan's last census count in 2000.
