I think the solution is to let sections outside Euroscrapers go. Then we keep the necessary activity but get rid of all the unnecessary traffic at latiscrapers, african and asian sections.

No offence, but you guys don't have a clue.

Even if you deleted half the forums, it would make practically zero difference to the server performance...

That's exactly the reason why I come there...

They should split up the forums - would make them more manageable.

It works...but so slow, you know from experience it'll get worse before it gets better, work for a few months and then go tits up again. It truely is possible to love and loathe something at the same time.

Exactly !

Why not shut the whole thing down for a week , fix the problem and restart.
SSC is the only site on the internet where problems occur nearly on a weekly basis, other much bigger websites have never problems.

SSC was at one point down for two weeks, I believe, and nothing was permanently fixed.

SSP is not much better today. SSC impossible to access and SSP very slow.

Well, duh...those 'other, much bigger' websites usually belong to big, rich corporations spending millions on new servers and software. And even those go down every once in a while. SSC still is a privately owned web-site; the only income being generated by advertising revenues and whatever is left on Jan's paycheck...

It's working now, but it's painfully slow.
