interestingly, this is being funded by funds from its casino.

New west seems to leverage its gaming funding for IMO worthwhile civic infrastructure.

I think that, rather than just having a service or emergency lane, the bridge should have a full-size bus lane. It doesn't exactly have to be wide (e.g. it could be mostly one-lane with passing sidings), but it'd help increase the directness of the bus service from Queensborough to New Westminster while at the same time offering an alternate route in case the main bridge has major delays or is shut down.

For the one suspended from the side of the existing rail bridge, I was thinking it would be similar to the Canada Line North Arm Bridge in width, maybe just a bit wider.

Exactly, and from the figures in the story, it looks like they get a ton of money. Like $50 million.

Imagine how much Vancouver could get if they built the mega casino.
