River North District in SA: River North Village

A mixed-use (residential, retail, and office) development at 1001 Broadway St. called River North Village.

Sorry, that's all I can find on it.

This will be built at the campaign building that's right across from that small park, it always has someone's campaign sign on the front. I think right now it has Hardberger's. It'll be built on that entire block.

In order to sell that place well, they are going to have to really clean up that area to make appeal to more people.

It's not really that bad now. No worse than currently SoFlo, which has residential developments selling out (South End Lofts) ir just plain selling like hot cakes. SoFlo is extremely hot right now. i can't see why that area can't do the same.

Wasn't that an old cadillac (or something) dealership? Good for Broadway.

I just realized that when Lake/Flato finishes the redesign of the shell at 35/Broadway, it will only be a block from this development... (Was it called Villaje del Rio?)

That's like 300 units just down the way. The area is beginning to roll...

(You can see the shell at the top right of SirKingWilliam's bird's eye pic.)

I believe this would be one of the first new projects to pop up in River North...this is very exciting!

Isn't there a proposed mixed-use planned opposite or somwhat opposite of this project across the SA River?

This smacks of the Pearl here in PDX-- start off with some nice low-rises, some rehabs, and then you've got opulent condos sprouting in a former NIMBY paradise (surprising, as it was originally industrial!).

Here are some images of the Pearl District; yes, it's intensely gentrified, but that always serves a good purpose in bringing higher paying jobs! --
