Tower crane is now complete.

Judging from it's "reach", I would say that the crane is ideally positioned to allow for construction of both Tannery Place South and Tannery Place North, and therefore would likely be a feature on our skyline until 2021.

If I were to speculate further, I wonder if they won't hold off on doing anything with the lot next to GoodLife until 2021 either. They could then simply reposition the current crane to the other side of Ivan Rand Drive and use it for the new construction there. This would give them a year or so to decide whether or not to proceed with the Home 2 Suites by Hilton.

is the Home 2 Suites and Hilton Garden owned by the same parent corporation? I realize the Parent Company usually franchises out most of their properties. Could it be Hilton may not want 2 properties so close together?

They are both Hilton brands (obviously), but are franchised out to different owners (typically). I imagine this is what will happen here. The people who owned the "V" Hotel are the ones behind the new Hilton Garden Inn. I'm not sure who the developers of the Home 2 Sites by Hilton are (unless it is Westmount/du Parc).

Are those prefabricated pieces for the structure?

They've added a "future projects" page to the Junction Urban Village website:

https://www.junctionurbanvillage.com/whats-coming-next

They are still talking about including Home 2 Suites by Hilton as a future development.

They are also still using this rendering for the proposed office building at the corner of Vaughan Harvey & Main.

A lot of concrete being poured at the location today. Driving by earlier I saw multiple cement trucks.
Does anybody know what those large pieces on the site are? They have been there for quite a while now.

I was just on the Tannery Place website and I see that they now have an application form for apartments in Tannery Place North (the waiting list for Tannery Place South is full).

Construction of Tannery Place North will commence next spring, with a fall 2021 completion date expected.

Kinda makes you think they should've made these buildings 8-10 storeys rather than 6 storeys.

It will be interesting to see if they go with the hotel. In April 2018 there was a story in the paper saying that Vaughn MacLellan was putting the hotel plans on hold. He wasn't sure about the market. But the Home 2 Suites by Hilton is on the Junction web site under future projects. I hope it works out. It would be a very nice piece of the overall project.

Foundation and underground parking for Tannery Place South is now complete. They are starting work on the reinforced concrete support pillars on the ground floor.

Regarding the foregoing:

In the centre background, if you squint really hard, you can see a second tower crane for the Hilton Garden Inn. Unfortunately it didn't show up very well on the photo, but it's there - trust me!

I can see it through the cement posts! I would imagine if you were able to get higher, you would get the crane in a more visible location. Though you would need a way to get higher, which I do not know how.

Looks like drone photo updates are in order this long weekend. If anyone wants me to capture something somewhere, let me know. I'm going to try and cover most all projects in the Moncton threads.

Looking forward to your new drone photos - they're always excellent.

The only special request I have is the new Day & Ross construction site on Frenette in the Caledonia Industrial Park. The footprint is massive, but it is difficult to take a picture of because of the large size of the lot.

Thanks.

It'd be neat to see what's going on at the sewage plant.

All doable. Except, quality of photos will be different. Anything within 5.5km from airport, I must use DJI Tello (right)(No restriction, fly responsibly). Anything beyond 5.5km, I can use my registered DJI Spark (left)(Basic Drone License).

Spark no fly zone roughly within circles, Tello fly free as a bird. From Hover Mobile App.

Does that map above also take into consideration the NAV Canada Offices in Riverview?

I thought the Tello was even above the size restrictions?
