That's bad news. How can it be that the renders can't be trusted at all when it comes to the color of the glass?

There were spots where the "terra-cotta" panels I'm guessing are going. So it's not all sea foam spandrel

But I agree how does this happen? When it's fsr or height we all know what that is before the shovel hits the ground it seems. But when it comes to colour of materials why are we always in the dark until it shows up on the building?

Simple answer: most high-rise residential glass has a high iron content, which makes it somewhat green. When you put white or light coloured spandrel panels, blinds, or curtains behind greenish glass they will also look greenish.

Hmmm yes I see your point but Black or dark grey spandrel would still look way better

I think the white and gray spandrel panels on Maddox are the locations where the terra cotta panels will be mounted later.

Media Manipulation?

Whispers from the edge of the rainforest, a local real-estate blog suspects a local marketing firm of some dubious PR.

There is also a more-recent follow up post on said blog.

This was posted to reddit.com by user "proudbedwetter", and should perhaps be taken with a grain of salt.

I'm not sure if this is the best place to post this, but Maddox was in the story.

You betcha!
Hopefully there will be some sanctions imposed on the agents.

A Vancouver real estate marketing company is apologizing for having two employees pose as prospective homebuyers in televised news segments on a supposed spike in sales around the Lunar New Year.

The two young women – presented as house-hunting sisters, whose parents would be in town from China for the New Year to help them purchase a condo – are in fact an administrative assistant and a sales assistant with MAC Marketing Solutions, president Cameron McNeill confirmed to The Globe and Mail.

If the market was as strong as MacNeill was suggesting on CTV tonight, they wouldn't have had to resort to such subterfuge.

Just giving the media what they want if people are really buying based on some TV story then I wish them luck when they reach adulthood.

Nothing really new here, another way is to pre-sell a % of the building to "family and friends" or in English ... take the best units off the market for a future markup and generate demand.

Driving to the city over Granville Bridge today I noticed that The Maddox is now as tall as The Rollston. There is no doubt that they will top this building in no more than two months!! The exciting thing will be to see how the "terra cotta" panels will look like once they start going up...

It'll be interesting to see if the terra cotta panels will be textured.
The Cinema Tower in TO has terra cotta panels on its parkade and loooks great:
