Utah Valley (Happy Valley) 2017

The mountain locked Utah Valley is home to the Provo/Orem Metro Area with a population of 650.000 people and is rapidly growing. The cities are situated between 10.000-12.000 ft peaks and a large fresh water lake. The Provo/Orem Metro is part of the Wasatch Front Urban Area with 2.5 million people and is 35 miles south of Salt Lake City.

They are always watching from the north end of the valley and protected by Camp Williams. The beast stores ALL digital information on its 5 zettabyte
(5 trillion gigabytes!) system.
It use 65 megawatts of power and
1.7M gallons of water daily from good old Utah Lake.

The Tooele Weapons Depot is located west of the Metro and contains highly lethal chemical weapons that are buried in concrete blocks in the ground as shown below.
In 1968 the government did open air tests with a deadly nerve agent and sprayed a 27 mile stretch killing 6,400 sheep grazing nearby and caused nervous-system illnesses to nearby families the government denied any involvement.

Remember the winds coming into the Wasatch Front come from the west where the testing occurred.

Hey xzmattzx, yeah the pioneers stayed busy back then building these beautiful structures. Most of the buildings have undergone seismic retrofitting for the expected big earthquake.

My friend has a cabin out by Strawberry Reservoir but the snow gets so deep you have to snowmobile in from the main road. We usually have a big new years party out there and hangout , go cross-country skiing and snowmobiling around the mountains. Most Utahns have access to one or more cabins via family or friends.

Sorry for making you home sick, I love Lone Peak it is an epic mountain with amazing rock climbing on it granite cliffs!
