Wow. I had missed that thread! Never been in the southwest, didn't really expect it to look that nice; that little ocean town looks fantastic!!

Well, the area is yet known as a place where spending your summer vacations in France. Saint-Jean-de-Luz is known throughout the country. The feeling over there is quite different from what you get on the Mediterranean coast, partly because you've got the ocean that's often lively while the Mediterranean sea is usually flat. When I was a teen, I met some kids who came from Nice and Cannes over there for example, as others from all over the country to enjoy both the sun and the restless ocean. People you meet in the area sometimes really like sailing, windsurfing, surfing for those who actually can, stuff like that. It's a more sporting atmosphere than the Mediterranean coast, so to speak.
