Trump Hotels CEO doesn't 'see any reason' U.S. expansion can't grow threefold, including a Dallas site

Hotels

Quote:
President Donald Trump's hotel-management company wants to expand its namesake luxury hotels across the U.S. while it holds off on new overseas business, its chief executive officer said.

"There are 26 major metropolitan areas in the U.S., and we're in five," Trump Hotels CEO Eric Danziger said after a panel discussion Tuesday at the Americas Lodging Investment Summit in Los Angeles. "I don't see any reason that we couldn't be in all of them eventually."

Having Trump hotels in 26 cities would triple the current total. Trump's company manages eight namesake hotels in the U.S., some of which the Trump family owns. Danziger, who joined Trump Hotels in August 2015, said that Trump Hotels is considering opening luxury properties in Dallas, Seattle, Denver and San Francisco, where he started his career in 1971 as a bellman at a Fairmont hotel.

Wasn't there already a Trump hotel supposed to be built here? I may as well wait for a Clinton hotel too!

Thompson Hotels plans to open a hotel next year in the iconic Dallas tower featured in the television series "Dallas."

The Thompson Dallas at the Drever will be the hospitality component of the 1.5-million-square-foot Drever project that is being redeveloped out of the First National Bank of Dallas building in the city's downtown district.

Frisco's Wade Park moving forward

Quote:
By Candace Carlisle
Feb 1st. 2017

A New York City-based family real estate investment firm has closed on a $82.75 million deal to help finance the construction of Frisco's Wade Park, a 175-acre mixed-use development near the Dallas Cowboys' world headquarters.

The deal will help fund the project, which developer Stan Thomas says has grown in size and scope over the past year.

"It's fair to say this project will be worth $3 billion upon completion," Thomas, CEO of Atlanta-based Thomas Land & Development Co., told the Dallas Business Journal, in a recent interview. "The project has escalated and is so much denser and bigger.

"Some of these buildings we have on our plans now didn't exist on the original plans," he said, adding the initial phase of construction — including the new Whole Foods grocery store, which is currently being built — will total roughly $600 million in construction costs.

The new financing deal through Gamma Real Estate will help develop the 175-acre development, which is expected to pencil out at 182 acres after a land deal with the City of Frisco closes in the near future. Terms of the financing deal were undisclosed.

Exclusive: Trump Hotels' newest concept to plant stake near Dallas City Hall

Quote:
President Donald Trump's hotel management company, New York City-based Trump Hotels, plans to put a stake in the ground in downtown Dallas with a new hotel — which could be the first concept of its kind realized in the United States.

The Dallas Business Journal has learned the hotelier plans to place its new 4-star concept, called Scion, within walking distance to Dallas' city hall.
Quote:
Trump Hotels' new Scion Dallas hotel — a six-story, 220-room hotel with ground-floor retail space — will sit within a new $50 million mixed-use development near city hall, said Turkish developer Mike Sarimsakci.
Quote:
Unlike the ultra-luxury brand of the Trump Hotels namesake, the Scion brand won't bear the Trump name and will be relatively affordable with hotel rooms ranging from $200 to $300 a night versus a nightly rate of $700 and up.
Quote:
Alterra International, which is based in Dallas and Istanbul, plans to develop the new Scion Dallas hotel as part of a mixed-use development fronting St. Paul Street between Wood and Young streets in downtown Dallas.

The two parcels of land, which total nearly one-acre, are under contract by the development firm. An affiliate of Dallas-based Hamilton Properties Corp. — Hamilton St Paul Grp LLC — has a contract to sell the land to Sarimsakci in a deal expected to close by this summer.
Quote:
Dallas-based 5G Studio Collaborative has begun working on architectural renderings for the Scion Dallas hotel.
Quote:
"The Dallas hotel will be the inspiration for the Detroit hotel because Dallas will probably be the first Scion hotel in the United States."

The Scion Dallas hotel will feature much of the city throughout the building with modern, clean lines and lots of warmth, said Nile Tuzun, creative director of design and branding for Alterra International.

"People staying there will know they are in Dallas, each room will have its own environment and references to Dallas," said Tuzun, who added the new brand will attract "young professional" travelers.

The ground-floor retail space, which will total about 20,000 square feet, will help bring in a Turkish furniture retailer, a steakhouse, a seafood restaurant, a Mediterranean restaurant and a Turkish coffee shop with pastries.
Quote:
One thing the project won't rely on: City money.
Quote:
"We want Dallas to be London, we want Dallas to be Singapore and having these venues that we are creating will bring and keep the young people in Dallas," he said.

Do some research of Mike Sarimsakci; he's made giant claims in the past, including two 70-story speculative towers that have obviously not materialized. The only time Trump has had any speculation of entering the Dallas hotel market is when he was promoting his scam real estate school.

Let's not toast each other until there's something to toast about!

^^^^ They have have been working on this development for a while now and Sarimsakci does have other projects complete and under construction in the area. This is in fact a real proposal, plus this started off as a possible 40 plus story building and now has been brought down to 6 floors which is very realistic.

Your both right. Sarimsakci's projects are a mixed bag. Some of his projects are pure baloney but he does have projects that have actually been developed. This one doesn't seem farfetched or grandiose so it could happen. With Sarimsakci, you just have to wait for dirt to move to know if it's actually going to happen.

Do your own research and you'll find I'm quite familiar with the Dallas market.

Sarimsakci is nearing completion on two hotels within the Butler Bros. building - there's absolutely no reason that downtown can't support a four star, six-floor hotel.

In regards to Sarimsakci's skyscraper proposals around City Hall, they were only to garner attention to both his land investment and name.

The 40-floor proposal was to be located on the same block as the Butler Bros. building.
