No wonder everyone overlooks Buffalo; no one posts anything. I'll be that guy.

Condo Tower; 23-Stories, 68 units costing between $400k and $2million. It would be the tallest residential building in Buffalo if not all of upstate NY (I’m not sure if the Seneca Towers in Rochester are taller. Uniland (developer) has yet to release an official height figure.)

8 Months ago a petition was started in opposition of the tower and it now has almost 2000 signatures. 3 Weeks ago a petition was started in support of the tower and it now has 1767 signatures (506pm 7jun07). If you live in the greater Buffalo area please consider signing.

Note: It was mentioned by the designers at the planning board meeting that the windows would be clear, not blue.



Really cool in my opinion, to bad the crotchety old farts who live next door don’t want there view blocked

Oh and P.S. if anyone knows how to post on the city diagram board could you post this project as proposed. its a 23 story residental; take a guess on the height. and change the federal court tower to construction.

I did a google search for 23-story buildings...

The range seemed to be 220-280 feet in height.

Given the height of the lobby ceiling and the fact that it will be a condo, as oppose to an apartment bldg. I would say it at the upper range, +280 ft, may even clear 300ft, but just barely.

I have high hopes too. unfornunately it will take more than high hopes for a few of these to get off the ground because of oposition. The site prep for the court tower is underway, rennovation on the statler is full steam ahead, Mr. Issa just purchased the lot for the Buffalo City Tower and Uniland just released this long over due rennovation.

The Gates Circle tower is an interesting one, and the more I think about it, it won't look odd at its location. I can say one thing......If I had the money, holy hell will a condo there have one hell of a view....especially one that has a view down Chapin Parkway.

The planned 23-story Uniland project at 33 Gates Circle has drawn neighborhood protests and about 2,000 signatures on a petition opposing the $55 million project. A major objection is the tower’s 22-story, 279-foot height, reached by designers responding to earlier neighbor complaints by making the tower more slender but taller to minimize shadows and sight-line blocking. But the building now occupies only 24 percent of the site (far less than the existing Park Lane restaurant building), sets back 175 feet from the roadway and incorporates both hidden underground parking and extensive landscaping to echo the Olmsted parkway greenery.

Don't ask me why it says 23 stories in one sentence and then 22 in the next...

Only if Senior housing is planned for outside the city. Then, perhaps in 8-10 years there won't be a large enough opposition to new development.

Hey Im right there man. I'm 53, and it seems everyone my age and less wants change. Two of my aunts live in that area. One is 76 the other 96, They are both complaining like hell, and Aunt Phyllis is almost entirely blind. Like she really G.I.S. about the view. It's just insane. I hope a Judge younger than 70 gets the case.........
