Also more interesting news for development. San Diego is hosting two development conferences within a few weeks of each other. http://www.utsandiego.com/news/2013/...erence-Gen-Y-/ hopefully some great new projects will come from this.

Old Police Headquarters update

I know this is not directly related to a skyscraper, but I believe it is projects like this one that will lead to more tower development in the future.

"The Headquarters will be anchored by the world-famous Pizzeria Mozza, and will feature other restaurants like Puesto, Eddie V's, Seasons 52 and the Cheesecake Factory.

The 100,000-square-foot complex is set to open this fall."

To me it seems like they are doing it right and not just making a tourist trap extension of seaport village. This is really looking like a project that will make the downtown residents and work force (not just tourists) happy, with good food and upscale amenities. Happy residents/employees = increased demand = more towers! I am excited to have this in my back yard! Well, all except the Cheesecake Factory...

haha Yeah, I think they are getting the "world famous" designation because there is a location in Singapore and the LA location pulls in a celebrity from time to time. Kind of a stretch. Still glad to have it!

^^ Yep, checked it out last night, even better than the Escondido location. They did a fantastic job of converting the old NTC Commissary.

It's nice to finally hear news on this project. It's going to be great for downtown. I can't wait to see renders.

I found some renderings for the Makers Quarter project. It looks like the main tower will be pretty tall. Check out their website too. http://www.makersquarter.com/

Looks like this tower will be only 4 blocks from the 15th & Island towers, finally making a high-rise cluster in East Village.

Does anyone know any details on the pacific heights project downtown? It just appeared on the civicsd map. It doesn't list height or other specs but it appears to be where McDonalds is now.

This is a link to the broker's page, who sold the land to the new developer. It has some basics as to what the site is/was zoned for...

PCH and Broadway which project is that? First and Island to me is a prime location and what is the proposal for it, I know that one dude did the rendering of a 500 foot tall vertical farm/condos. Kettner and Ash... I forgot that one too, what is the new website that lists all the projects and the map now that CCDC is gone?

I can't believe Lane Field hasn't started yet, lets get that shit rolling.
