Ottawa - August 4th, 2008

Hi all

Long time reader of this forum and this is my first post!

I looked at every Ottawa pictures and I enjoyed them very much! So, I do want to add my little contribution and I'm posting a set of pictures I took this last summer... Back then, I've just bought a new camera and I wanted to play with it! So I went for a little tourist walk in my own city! Here are my pics!

I remember I actually enjoyed taking this walk... Maybe there will be a part 2 one day...

Welcome to the forum! Great thread. The view from your apartment to LeBreton is sweet. I like the pictures of the busker and the expressions on people's faces. The later pictures remind me of good times on summer evenings hanging out downtown.

Thank you for your welcome!

I actually liked the busker pictures too for the exact same reasons! I enjoy street photography a lot, but since I am too shy to aim at strangers with my camera, I can't take interesting pictures of this type myself... So I enjoy Harl's pictures instead (and also pictures from this guy... http://www.robink.ca/blog/)

Here are the rest of the busker pictures I took!

lol! The lady was supposed to throw the lettuce into the lawn mower! Not at the busker face!

Nice photos. I remember those views. I used to live in your complex (420 Gloucester, I think) many years ago - 24th floor end unit overlooking Lebreton Flats. Tiny apartment with gigantic spiders, but the view was amazing.

lol! Luckily for me, the gigantic spiders issue has been resolved!

I also used to have an incredible and unobstructed north view, but Richcraft had the brilliant idea to build a huge building (570 Laurier) right in front of my apartment !

WOW!!!!!!!

Incredible! I've seldom seen such incredible pics of Ottawa, even less of the touristic attractions like the Parlement which I thought I had seen from all angles!

Please, please post more! You are a great addition to some of the great photographs in SSP:Ottawa.

Welcome!

Thank you all for your nice comments! I'm happy to share these pics instead of letting them sleep in my hard drive for no one to see! One of these days, I will blow out the dust from my camera and go for another round... There is a lot of nice place in this town!

For now, as suggested by Harls, I will probably repost this thread on the "City Photos" group tonight or tomorrow!

I love the combination of the older-looking buildings in the front, and the sleek, new building in the back. The older buildings are simply beautiful, while the newer one, to me, is the perfect amount of glass to brick (or whatever it is) ratio.
