I think their salespeople must have screwed up, because the pic in that ad is NOT the studio that is 488 sqft. The floor plan doesn't match.

I think there was an ad for a 2 bedroom for $1500 the other day, so maybe it's just a typo?

who knows. all those big apartment complex ads are borderline bait-and-switch anyhow, wrong photos, just to get you in the door

how about the ad for the $5875 / mo 2 brm in the Ardea:

I'm sure someone in that league is looking for rentals on craiglist

They had a $7500ish penthouse posted the other day too. Pretty crazy price, but not completely unexpected considering the size and the fact that it is the top floor. WAY more than I can imagine spending on rent, however.

Portland hasn't been adding jobs this wealthy... why do they think they'll be able to fill that housing at that price?

I wish there was middle class housing within 2 miles of downtown...

No kidding... not to mention it is also 2 floors with 2 terraces and a built in outdoor gas grill.

The problem is that they ARE filling these places at that price. Our place on the 19th floor isn't THAT bad, albeit not cheap, but there are many people living on higher floors. I met someone that moved into the 29th floor and judging from the website prices their unit is close to $6,000 a month.

Back to the Riva... they have some great lighting in their roof deck landscaping at night. A coworker of mine toured it last week and said the units were pretty nice but very small. The majority of the units facing north do not have balconies either. I don't think I could survive without a balcony of some sort.

I like the garden on the parking garage roof too - it makes such a difference having it landscaped and lit like that.

Two more postings on craigslist for the riva today. Almost $1940 for a 1 bedroom, 848 sq ft w/ balcony (not sure which floor) or $1900 for a 6th floor 2 bedroom, little over 1,000 sq ft.

I just don't see how they're going to be able to rent these with the Ardea right next door. I also don't know why I keep looking for the ads on Craigslist.

Erin
