Freki,

we all love buses here, and don't get me wrong I love all the Copenhagen pics you've been posting. It's just that this thread is for posting examples of bus paint schemes and designs, not just for posting tons of pictures. Maybe a seperate thread could be started for just posting an assortment of bus transport photos?

You could got to cptdb.com, which is like SSP, but with buses instead of buildings. I'm sure they'd love to see Danish buses.

It's cptdb.ca

It's a decent site, mostly devoted to Canadian systems, but also a category for American and Worldwide public transit systems.

Don't disappear though Freki, we all appreciate what you've contributed!

The pictures are cool to see, they're just not really the topic of this particular thread.

I vote for creating a new thread.

One of the new hybrid electric buses. New hybrid buses will start an express service to the airport is set to begin this fall. Those buses will be branded "Sprinter" and will have a green livery.

^Ehhh, not so much for me. Maybe if this was 1988 or if it was trying to look like an RV.

North America loves buses that look like they're from 1988. Newflyer still makes buses that use a base design from at least the 1960s with little modifications, and the design the looks remotely modern costs extra. Canada actually protested the replacement of GMC Fishbowls with Classics in the 1980s and continued making them in Canada for several years. I think they protested the ending of the GM Classics in the 1990s as well, and NovaBus made those until 1996. We're a strange country.

Maybe it's called lack of competition.

I'm pretty "meh" about our bus designs. I think the buses Freki posted are much nicer looking. I do like our hybrid Sprinter buses that will be running an airport express route come this autumn:

From the May MTC Meeting Agenda via Tozmervo

The green will help differentiate them from regular local buses.

Also, a hybrid bus manufacturer, Designline, has their North America headquarter in Charlotte. Right now there are some of their buses in use by the airport for parking transit (as seen on their homepage). Future plans may have they city buy some of their buses for regular service usage. Here's an example:

Baltimore is launching a network of free central city circulators this summer that will use that bus.

You know those bendy BRT buses (a NABI?) looks sharp in the WMATA paint job.

I used to think they looked kind of silly but the design's grown on me.Maybe it's the similiar buses they have in Las Vegas that look ugly.

It's growing on me too. They look a lot better in person than in photograph.

This is what llamorama is talking about: WMATA's new scheme is red for local service, blue for express. You can see the picture of the red bus is articulated.

Here is the Express livery on a less fancy bus:

channaher has a good flickr set of DC area buses that includes a fun one I didn't show back on the first page.

The Richmond Highway Express is a limited stop operation that runs south from King Street Metro down US Route 1 in suburban Alexandria. It's just one route (and suburban at that), so not a common scene, but it has a unique branding scheme that is worth showing off:

I don't know, I think it is kind of inovative. Better than the old bus designs that have been used for decades. Here it is in Baltimore's livery that Cirrus had mentioned:
