Sandusky is a city of 25,000 on the shores of Lake Erie, in Erie County, Ohio. It lies halfway between Cleveland and Toledo, about an hour from each. Population peaked at 32,500 in 1970.
Downtown Sandusky does contain an unfortunate amount of empty buildings, but it has a very large downtown for a city it's size, and a great lakefront location.
Sandusky is one of my favorite small cities in Ohio. It has attractive residential areas with neat stone buildings that I have not gotten around to photographing in my two visits. Today it's just a walk around downtown.
intense baby
The eve of the solstice. It stays light out pretty late this far west in the time zone.
It's actually on Sandusky Bay and it doesn't have a beach (unless you want to count that one on Cedar Point). A little harbor park + warehouses/docks/port.

Too bad there isn't some better connection between downtown and the amusement park. When Cedar Point closes up, I just wanna finish off the day at the bar. Would be cool if downtown had a bunch of restaurants and stuff for people to go to.
very nice, tubs. passed through here overnight on amtrak once and didn't even open my eyes. don't think i know anything about sandusky other than cedar point and its mention in a chris farley movie (tommy boy, was it?). good stuff.
As well as much of Michigan, Western PA and probably areas south of Ohio too. I read an article years ago about where their traffic originates and many of it is surrounding states + national visitors and even some international visitors.
Never saw the town though. neat little place.
I enjoyed going to kelly's Island on a ferry when i was younger. As well as Cedar Point which blows kennywood out of the water. Speaking of water, they have a great waterpark too!
