Now that the crane is up, concrete forming should be occuring shortly.

What kind of rinky-dink dozer do they have labouring there? A couple of dudes on the whole site? Appears to be a pretty cut-rate operation.

Looks like legitimate foundation work is underway. I moved this to the construction forum.

Thanks colemonkee!

At the rate it is going, should be finished in another 5 or 10 years.

This will nicely fill in that gap in the streetwall when looking South on Bay from Bloor.

Excavation started in November 2010.

One Bloor started excavation in June 2011.

I wonder if maybe they had mezzanine financing in place for that time period, but not full financing. Or there could be special soil or chemical remediation issues with this site that aren't present on most other sites in Toronto that could be a cause for delay. Or it may simply just be a shortage of labor for the contractor selected. There could be a myriad of reasons for the slow pace on this one. The important thing is that they're making progress, and that it hasn't stopped altogether.

I think they have gotten a little faster with the work here since I saw it in early April. Still seems slow but at least it's still rising.

This site is so huge, it may still take them 2 and a half months to reach ground level.

Walked by the site today. It is progressing but very slow, wasn't worth the effort to take a picture.
