Beaches, Blondes, and Burgers: Life in Los Angeles

So, I got a new lens. What better way to celebrate the occasion by taking pictures? Sadly, my celebration was cut short by the fact that, three days after I got the lens, I had to go to Costa Rica. And so, these are the pictures I took over those three days, in roughly chronological order. Pretty much just me hanging out with my friends, with extra architecture involved. Oh, and these were all shot on a 5D MkII and a Zeiss 35mm f1.4 lens for those who care about that kind of stuff. And sorry if any of the photos are slightly out of focus, since I was using a manual focus lens. Enjoy.

Excellent pics! I like your choices for sushi, too. I haven't gone to Sawtelle in a while, your pics make me wanna go.

Very nice! A ton of good pics in this set. The barbershop pic may be my favorite. And the Venice canal pics. Well, I liked all of them.

Well done! Good to see you posting more often here. I appreciate the Westside focus, as it partially reminds that I almost spend zero time there. I was at Diddy Riese's the other night, and thought how impressive it was that LA's main (youth) center of activity has shifted east in recent years. Diggin' all that MCM, though. Especially this one. There is such a wealth of Modern architecture on the Westside!

Father's office - I make a point, and will continue to make a point to end all trips to the US at this place - fly into LAX in the morning, go there for lunch and stay til dinner, then cab it back to the airport and head home to Australia around midnight.
