I'm extremely disappointed with how Arterra came out due to the intentionally misleading renderings but here it is.

Isn't this far from finished? They still need to add the brick. I'm hoping it looks relatively close to the renderings. I don't live in KC but I've had high hopes for this one since it was posted on here. KC seems to get pretty good infill.

The tan stuff you see is the finished brick. Some balconies still need to be added but other than that, this one is nearly finished.

The rendering was grossly misleading. This is the final color... most people in the real KC forums hate it but, eh... what can you do.

Wow... what an unfortunate bait & switch. That material doesn't even look like brick.

1800 Walnut

Looks like this should start construction in November. I really love this design. Nice quote from the article:

“At one meeting, the height was brought up, but a number of people said this is the way the Crossroads is evolving, this is cool and positive.”

You beat me to it. That little 2 block stretch is going to be one of the best little pockets in KC. That, Corrigan Station and City Club are going to work great together. All we need is another office location and we would be set.

In Overland Park. This will be here.

Metcalf office tower rezoning approved. Supporters want more green space, amenities
Quote:

The Overland Park Plan Commission supported rezoning Monday for a $260 million office tower campus at 95th and Metcalf, although members also wished for a more pedestrian-friendly design with additional green space.

The City Council will vote in November on the rezoning that would allow Shamrock Trading Corp. to build three multistory office buildings, parking garages and a future restaurant on 34 acres between 93rd and 95th streets, just east of Metcalf Avenue.

The site is across Metcalf from Shamrock’s existing headquarters and used to house the Overland Park French Market, which is empty and will be demolished. It’s just north of a new Lowe’s Home Improvement store. The existing Olive Garden restaurant, 6750 W. 95th St., and Red Lobster, 9475 Metcalf, are not part of the development and will remain in their current locations.

This is not a productive post at all, but I wish we knew when they plan on starting Three Light. Good news is 1800 Walnut should start next month. Exciting times!

East Crossroads Apartment Project

So this was approved and construction starts in December. Nice to see construction starting east of Oak and east in general. Downtown will be quite different in just 2-3 years.

This is HUGE for the east Crossroads area, now to clean up the old buildings across the street and get some more art over there.
