/\ I almost bought a refurbished unit a couple days ago with a Canon back warranty. Just couldn't justify it yet. The 30D will do for a while. You are a lucky guy!

I'm not a very technical guy, so I deal with the basics. But I have to admit the results aren't bad once I use color enhancement/photoshop. Here's my equipment:

I have the ever-so popular Canon EOS 350D "Digital Rebel XT". I'm currently only using the Sigma 17-70 mm lens, it seems to suit all of my needs for the moment, although were I rich I'd buy a bona fide wide-angle lens.

One thing that concerns me about digital images is how good the quality is if you're making a fairly large photo, say something bigger than 8x10. Have any of you made large prints with the higher quality (more megapixel) cameras and if you have how do they compare with a 35mm print? Also, have any of you used these internet companies that make prints and ship by mail? Thanks.
Digitals can not compare to regular film cameras. If you want the best picture you gotta use film.
My sister deaslw tih photographers at work, and they all use regular film cameras, because they are still the best.

But when you are shooting things all the time like us fourmers, digital really helps as you can pick and choose what to print

I don't care what tech people have with hardisks, cd's etc. I always get the pics I like the most printed out at the photo lab near my house.

I know that he has a high MP D-SLR and was pretty skeptic about the quality compared to what he could do in his darkroom, he was pleasantly surprised with the results. He said that he shoots everything in RAW format and does post-processing in Photoshop. I know that you can get poster size prints of his from some of the sources he has listed. He rarely uses film much anymore.

I bought my 6mp camera in November and still haven't printed anything off it yet, I could still do an 11x17 with my 2mp and it wasn't too bad, not near as good as 35mm but considering what I was using it was better than expected, I pretty much tried to limit it to 8x10 size. I would imagine the 6mp would be that much better. I want to eventually get a D-SLR but just wanted a better P-N-S at this time.

I have an 11x17 inkjet (HP 9650) and a Konica-Minlota magicolor 2530DL color laser printer, the laser is just great but the only problem is not as many photo types of papers are available for the laser. i have never used an outside printer.

All shots are non-photoshopped or digitally enhanced in anyway.
Well this is the camera that I've been snapping em' with... The EOS 400D 10 megapixel camera with my 18-200mm Sigma lens... I've also got the Canon 10-22mm wide zoom lens, but it's not pictured here.

Nikon D50. The last few photothreads I've been shooting off a 50mm lens. I will buy a wide-angle at some point to go along with the 28-80 and 50.

I just purchased a Canon Powershot A710 last night. 7.1 megapixels and 6x optical zoom. A huge improvement over my old Powershot A310 with no optical zoom.

Canon PowerShot SD400.

I don't know what to think of it.

5 MP, 3x optical zoom. More zoom would be nice.

My photos tend to come out grainy, it might be me, though, I do have a fingerprint on the lense from when I got it and I don't know how to clean it off and I'm afriad of scratching the lense.

You can buy lens cleaner at any camera store, though I don't think that is what's responsible for the grain in your shots. What ISO are you using? Does your camera have a noise reduction setting?
