Is that the famous "kinetic wall" we've heard so much about? Wonder how it'll look in person
It wasn't windy when I took the picture but on my drive home from work today it was moving and looked awesome. It'll be an incredible effect when all the panels are up.
Man, that's a sight. I was in school at IIT for the '07-'08 school year, and throughout the year the Trump Tower was climbing its way into the skyline. The view has CHANGED!

I guess the L hides stuff along Wells but I’m guessing painted concrete exterior on 145 s Wells. Thought it was gonna be some random pattern thing of aluminum and glass. This isn’t the concrete expression I like. It needs to go away. Clad all buildings in aluminum, brick, glass and spandrel, wood composite, stone or if concrete...some nice textured finish like brutalist buildings once had. End painted concrete please.
This is the first time I realized this building isn't actually square, kinda a cool shape actually...
Yea there is actually a good bit of texture to this building. It should turn out great. I've been having a blast watching it go from parking lot to its current state.
^^^ Those aren't the half of it, with Union West, 845 W Madison, and Mileau already rising there's going to be a forest of 20+ story buildings West of Halsted all of the sudden. Mileau is already very visible from 290 coming in and from the Circle, it's really pushing the skyline SW and connecting Related's building over on Van Buren into the rest of the West Loop. Can't wait for Rush to get going on their new student housing to start linking IMD with West Loop. As cool as what is going on right now is, just wait until everything is filled in out to United Center, soon there will be a continuous highrise district from about Western and Ogden all the way up to Evanston. Stuff like the new CCH building, the Cook County Hospital renovation, the IMD gateway, and Rush's housing are going to really start to tie IMD back into the surrounding areas one of which is the West Loop.
