I just completed part one of a planned three part update!

The major part of of this update includes the addition of recently announced:

The two buildings would be connected by a 7 story parking structure. Ground floor retail is proposed along all three street frontages. Additional information should be available in the spring of 2008, if the project moves forward.

The project, known as 999 17th Street, would include a 350,000 SF office tower at the corner of 17th and Curtis and a tower of similar size at 18th and Curtis with possibly hotel and residential uses.

I've known about this project for many months but, since confidentiality was requested, I haven't blogged about it--which was tough to do since it's such an exciting development! I haven't yet obtained permission to post the project renderings.

An entire half block of surface parking in the core Downtown along 17th Street--our "Wall Street of the Rockies"--could go away and be replaced with a vibrant mixed-use high-rise complex. Sweet!

She's a beaut. If they made it twice as tall I'd prolly die from sheer joy. Until then, absolutely awesome. 390 feet is pretty darn good.

Oh yeah, this nice twin tower project will fill up a key half block. The economy is really bangin' out projects right now, despite the mortgage crises.

This Hotel Gold Crown probably won't improve the skyline, but what a classy fantastic addition to improve a seedy little part of 15th Street. The extended corners and angles along with the unusual top of this building make it a welcome addition of the best kind....

I love this tower, even though it's not that tall (maybe a bit over 200?) It's a grand mix of old and new aesthetics. I think it looks like a skyscraper you would find in Gotham City or something.

Hope this new addition to Denver's mini-boom goes up!

I love it too. I just noticed how in the day, it will look darkest at the base (a nice granite color like what 16th Street Mall is paved with), then gray in the middle and off-white on top. However, at night, because of the lighting scheme, it will appear lightest at the base (because of bright lights), gray in the middle (because of accent lights) and dark at top (because of no lights) -- then of course that lovely red lit crown on top!

This Denver compilation thread and specifically the great work done by The Dirt, was recently featured in a KWGN (Denver Super Station) news video! This video also has an interview with a Callahan official -- Callahan is the developer which is going to begin construction of the Two Tabor Center later this summer -- thus reaffirming this project is still on schedule to move ahead as planned!
