I really like the new design. It's my favorite on the site. Love the cladding!

It reminds me of the Tokyo Sky Tree. (Below the observation deck)

I much prefer the old design with the setbacks and dynamic massing based on what side you are looking at it.

This new design would have been better as a stand alone (Extel take note and drop AS+GG please!), but as part of the entire Hudson Yard complex I don't like the way it fits in. It's too tall next to the North Tower and from far away it will have no shape and it's texture won't be visible. Up close it kinds of reminds me of a funnel cake stick or a twizzler.

This redesign is superior to the old one, IMO.

^ That setbacks previous version would have been great at 225 W 57 (Nordstrom).

Yes it is a Child's tower. I was saying I think the tower would look better as a stand alone than at HY, and Extel should take note of this design and drop the AS+GG design at their 57th St site.

According to the model this tower looks like its 1100+ feet.

^ I agree.

Before we get used to the new design, here's another look at the old design and its setbacks, which serve as decks...

I don't spend a lot of time on the High Line now, but that's sure going to change when these towers start reaching up, and more so after they are built. The perfect place to take it all in.
