My building has a lobby that is one floor below my home, yet I am on the first floor with a ground-level patio.

Yay for slopes.

Confuses the hell out of everyone invited over though.

In Denmark ground floor is 0th - and called "Stuen"

I always thought that all this "ground floor and 1st floor being the one above" -thingy was only British curiousity but I guess I was wrong. In Finland the numbering starts from 1, 1st floor being the one on street level though it can be called "Katutaso", street level or "Aula", lobby but the floor above is always the 2nd floor.
