Wellington Street in St. Thomas, ON. One of the most affluent neighbourhoods in the city can be seen right at the beginning, plus the city's courthouse.

Fascinating 1982 (filmed in 1980) NFB documentary about the taxi industry in Toronto. Worth watching just for the old-school Toronto gritty cityscapes.

Taxi

Barry Greenwald - 57 minutes.

1970 documentary short (20 minutes) about Toronto's infamous hi-rise experimental hippie commune Rochdale College.

This is probably the first high-quality drone video to depict Sherbrooke's urban landscape.

Not sure if this necessarily fits the bill of this thread, but the City of Calgary concluded it's 3rd Annual Baconfest Urban Planning film festival in February of this year. This is our third year and was an idea sparked from our new GM Rollin Stanley to showcase the films of Edmund Bacon (Kevin Bacon's dad) who was the head of the Philadelphia Planning Commission and a famous US Urban Planner. We showed his films year one and kept the name and have been going ever since.

We've averaged over 250+ people per night and have been showing a range of modern and older documentaries to encourage people to think about City Planning.

This year's film festival included short films submitted by the public about Urbanism in Calgary. They went over so well at the finale of the festival - so we published them and have been sharing them. So here is the link to the 5 short films submitted in our public short film package. This will become a part of the festival for next year.

For more information on Baconfest check out www.calgary.ca/baconfest.

Looks like those trains could use some better security, not to mention the tunnels.

Not a super-duper exciting video of Red Deer, but Taylor Drive is a fairly important road for the city, so I thought I would film it. I have some more interesting Red Deer videos coming soon.

Gorgeous views approaching Vancouver from the east. 17min in, you can see how close planes get to the mountains.

Kingsway gives me hope for Vancouver, and its housing crisis. There's basically nothing worth saving on the street between Boundry and Main (it may just be Vancouver's ugliest strip), so the amount of development potential is staggering. It's central and it's mostly low-rise buildings and parking lots. Even though we've seen some positive developments around Main St., I hope we see a big push for redevelopment in the coming years.
