Working onsite has been a positive experience, site planning and organization for this big of a project has been going really well. We consider ourselves lucky to be a part of the team.

It would be nice to sit at a game in a few years time with your kid(s) and explain how you helped build the place. Best I can do is say I watched them build it.

I noticed yesterday that they started forming the 4th Level above grade on the east side. This will be the floor of the upper concourse and ceiling of the suite level below.

Indeed they are cooking. And from the section and the renderings it looks like the upper concourse overhangs the lower three by quite a bit! That will look interesting.

Walking across the pedway this morning over 11th, and you can see the columns now above the Field house! This thing will be impressive when driving west on that street.

Drove by the site today, it's amazing the amount of progress they are making in the dead of winter.

Looks like the west side is nearly at grade... Soon it will start catching up to the east Then it will look REALLY impressive! Hopefully mid-late summer the steel starts going up

I believe the structure is supposed to be complete sometime this summer, so we should definitely be seeing steel going up. Then they have another year to do all the interior systems and exterior finishes (since they have a completion date in the summer of 2016).

What an embarrassment.. Inexperience is key on IG Field. By all parties involved. They went with "local' guy Ray Wan, who hired HOK or somebody to do a bit of work. But Wan ran with the stadium design. Hence the lawsuits.

New Regina Stadium is coming along nicely!

I heard from a friend during the summer of '13 that there were cracks in the structure due-to-the-fact that there was not enough curing time for the concrete. I didn't want to say anything on here before without corroboration.

There's be many stories like that. No hoarding during winter. I think that's part of the lack of quality control mentioned in the news. There was extensive hoarding visible during construction, as is seen in the Regina stadium. Im sure more will come out as the lawsuit progresses. Stuart Olson seems to be doing alright on the convention center expansion downtown. Hopefully no lawsuits on that one.

There was proper hoarding. It's the actual structure / design that is the issue. Some of the supports were not to code for a structure it's size but this is what the design called for and they insisted it was done this way. Also there were some ( I won't mention ) city folks involved that pushed things along do to the mess from the start with another ( I won't mention ) party .

It's a great venue. It's was a venue designed improperly though. They pretty much hashed together the original design which would have had an enclosed roof system with another and threw it in a blender and you got this.

Inspectors were ( cough ) helping a certain group also in getting it fast tracked as it was so late to start with.

I'd tell you more but I do not need any law suits either lol

As for Regina's. I hope they take their time. 2016 seems to soon for an opening. Our springs and summers and winters are so unpredictable. They have the same time line as we hoped to have. It's when they fall behind that short cuts happen.

I am assuming the old field will be left standing till it is finished 1oo% and tested !

I really like the green shaded glass though. Hope they stick with it.
