I think it will illuminate nicely. I have no proof that's it's a manufactured material, but given that it looks like it's no more than 1 1/2 inches thick I don't think it could possibly be natural and have any hope at all of surviving the climate. Seeing as I can see it from my living room, I'm looking forward to it being finished enough to see the illumination at night.
